Its your birthday, i can't forget

Today is the 19th of August, its your birthday and i miss you. I signed in to facebook today after your demise. I can't stand it! I found out about your demise on facebook on stupid facebook. No one had the guts to tell me. I wish you had said goodbye. You hated goodbye, you just say see you later.

Happy birthday dear Jamilu, Jayboy, my hero, my friend.

Our Mothers Our Treasure

Your Mother carried you inside of her womb for nine whole months, she felt sick for months with nausea, then she watched her feet swell and her skin stretch and tear.

She struggled to climb stairs, she got breathless quickly and even a simple task like putting her shoes on was a huge struggle for her. She suffered many sleepless nights while you kicked and squirmed inside of her and while you demanded that she scoffed junk at 3am, she then went through EXCRUCIATING PAIN to bring you into this world.

She became your nurse, your chef, your maid, your chauffeur, your biggest fan, your teacher, your agony aunt and your best friend. She's struggled for you, cried over you, fought for you, put herself second for you, hoped the best for you and has driven herself insane with worry for you but never has she asked for anything in return because she loves you and did it all on love alone!

Most of us take our Mums for granted but there are people who have lost or have never even seen theirs. If you have a loving Mother who did all of this for you, you are very lucky, never devalue her worth because one day, you'll wish you hadn't!.

To every women who is a mother, and to every other women who is going to be one day.

Life, Goals & Achievements! Things I Wish I Knew Before I Turned Twenty-Five

Looking back at the years since I left the University, I ask myself if I have achieved much. The answer is YES. Have I achieved the goal I set out for myself at my present age? The answer is NO. Am I getting there? Maybe. I am still at the bottom of the ladder looking up and definitely climbing fast.
But I know for certain that there are a few things I wish I knew years ago. Perhaps, I would have achieved more than I have.
So, here are my 7 things I wish I knew before I turned 25:

1. People are Willing to Help: People are more willing to help than you think; all you need to do is ask. This is very true, but fear of being turned down or lack of confidence in yourself would stop you from asking most times. I recently embarked on a project and while on it, I realised I needed help from people who are more experienced than I am. So I wrote a short list of the people I thought would help me achieve my goals. That was on paper. When it came to asking I developed cold feet.

“Why would they want to help? I don’t have anything to give in return. Why should they trust that I would not bug them to death?” All these questions ran through my mind before I asked myself a critical question: “What’s the worst that could happen?”
As long as I don’t end up dead, arrested or broke, I figured I didn’t have much to lose. I finally sent the e-mails and made the calls. The result? All of them agreed to help out and they were quite happy to. What did I do to get them to agree? Not much. I managed to convince them by showing a proof of my work and I promised not to be a pest.

The Giant Of Africa Wins AFCON 2013

The Super Eagles led by coach Stephen Keshi are the Gold winners of the AFCON 2013.




Did you know that apart from the $1.5 million (1.2 million euros) 1st prize, the African Champions go to the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil June to face Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain.

The team did extremely well in this outing. Long live Nigeria, Long Live the Super Eagles! I hope we retain the title at AFCON 2015 in Morroco.


In other news, my hood went crazy at the final whistle. I had no idea people keep knockouts after Christmas. I thought they were gunshots when i heard it.  How was it celebrated where you are?
